Today’s Weight: 64.5kg
Alright. I have a crisis here. First, I’m out of fruit. Second, I’m out of vegetables. And third, I’m out of protein. Literally. There’s not even a single egg left in my fridge. And that has caused my bright lines to go waaay dull today.
And really, what I realised also today is that this Bright Line Eating meal plan is not working out for me. So I’m going to start over by switching things out, which was what I should have done in the first place. But really, it only takes a few days of trying out a new diet for you to figure out what works best for you.
So. The Bright Line Eating meal plan for weight loss is as follows:
Breakfast: 1 fruit, 1 protein, 1 grain
Lunch: 1 fruit, 1 fat, 1 protein, 6oz veggies
Dinner: 1 protein, 6oz veggies, 8oz salad (basically 12oz veggies)
Here’s my problem with this. First, apart from oats and nasi lemak, I don’t typically take grains in the morning. And second, I want my 4oz of rice at dinner, so I can eat with my husband. And third, I don’t think it’s even possible for me to eat 14oz veggies in one sitting (dinner).
So, to make this easy for myself, I’m going to change the breakdown to this:
Breakfast: 1 fruit, 1 protein, 6oz veggies
Lunch: 1 fruit, 1 fat, 1 protein, 8oz veggies
Dinner: 1 grain, 1 protein, 6oz veggies
Why? Because I cook for two people, and my husband is not doing BLE (goodness he needs to put on weight, not lose any. And I think this way, it’s much more sustainable and realistic to my daily food intake because then I can just cook healthier versions of typical Malay food for dinner and watch my portions.
So I’m going to give myself an off day tomorrow, because I’m also going to be at my parents’ tomorrow. But I’m going to make sure those lines are as bright as they possibly can be. In the meantime, I need to desperately stock up on veggies tomorrow.
My favourite: lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, mushroom, spinach, peppers, butternut squash, corn, peas. I love cauliflower and cabbage but was told these are common milk killers, so I shall not risk it.
Speaking of milk killers, I’m going to give this weight loss plan two weeks before deciding if I want to add more food because I’m still breastfeeding without any formula topup. First, because Fahim is already approaching seven months, and so my milk supply is actually really well established. Secondly, because I feel the food I’m eating is more than sufficient to maintain a healthy supply.
In any case, my dad’s birthday is on Monday and we are celebrating tomorrow. I’ll write about it on Monday as tomorrow’s post will be on Fahim’s (can you believe it) seven month update. My baby. ❤
